Dr. Rodrigo Rubio
Dr. Rubio is an experienced anesthesiologist at ABC Hospital in Mexico City whose clever passion for unique approaches to active learning continue to disrupt the status quo and impact everyone he meets. A gifted teacher and creative expert in simulation and serious games for learning, Dr. Rubio is also a fierce advocate for his patients and our specialty. He is well-published and serves in several leadership roles, including as the co-chair of the Education Committee for the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists and former president of the Latin American Federation for Simulation in Healthcare. Dr. Rubio has also worked closely with Stanford’s cognitive aid group and was a partner in the COVID response through our tele-education series. Dr. Rubio shared his knowledge and expertise with Stanford’s Department of Anesthesiology in July of 2023 sharing several genius teaching tools including a puzzle for the coagulation cascade and a tabletop card game for learning airway management.
